DVD-Video "From St. Peter to the top of the Würzjoch"

The Villnösser valley, is a virtually untouched and not overrun Dolomite valley, starting in the gentle vine growing hills in the village of Eisack and ending in the gigantic rocks of the Dolomites.

The Villnösser valley has been made popular by the extreme mountaineer REINHOLD MESSNER who grew up in Villnösser and discovered here his love for the mountains.

The introspective mountain villages such as Teis, St. Valentin, St. Peter, St. Jakob and St. Magdalena maintained their old traditions over the centuries. The Teiser MINERAL MUSEUM with its many valuable mountain crystals and the famous TEISER BOWLS is especially interesting and viewable.

We start our 18 km long bicycle tour to Würzjoch in St. Peter at 1,154 m above sea level. After overcoming the first steep ascent we ride along the hillside of the Tschiniför Mountain. When we look to the right we see the towering gigantic grey crenulations of the GEISLER-GROUP and the rocky massif of the AFERER-GEISLER above the Villnöss valley.

After a stop for a snack at the Halshütte (1,866 m), we can see the mighty rock PEITLERKOEFEL (2,875 m height). Driving downhill we cross a mountain steam and then overcome the last 833 meters in altitude gain to our destination.

On our arrival at the Würzjoch at 1,987m we can enjoy the vast view over valleys and plateaus of the Dolomites as well as the beautiful view to the enormous rock formation of the PEITLER KOFELS.
