Tegernsee Tour

We begin this almost 48 mile long beautiful tour, where 5518 feet in altitude have to be overcome, at the historic Inn Forsthaus Valepp, which was established in 1841, in the Valepper valley south of the Lake Spitzing in Upper Bavaria, at a level of 2887 ft above sea.

Passing the confluence of the rivers Rote Valepp and Weiße Valepp we cycle alongside the mountain river through the wild and romantic valley to Rottach-Egern at the Lake Tegernsee.

We now ride almost 3 miles alongside the scenic bank of the Lake Tegernsee to St. Quirin. Here we leave the lake road and, via a short but demanding ascent, we reach the small village Gasse.

Riding up and downhills, whilst enjoying the beautiful foothills of the Alps, we make our way along quiet side roads which lead us for 27 miles around the district town Miesbach to Fischbachau (2530 ft).

Approximately 5 miles still have to be overcome on an almost even stretch of road before we reach the 2.5 mile long and almost 12% steep ascent up to the Spitzingsattel at 3704 ft above sea level.

The following short descent to the beautifully situated Lake Spitzing, our destination of this beautiful tour, is relaxing.
