Yosemite Nationalpark

The Yosemite National Park is the first State Park of the USA and the first example for the worldwide National Park idea of today. It is situated in the heart of California and with its landmark, the Halfdome, it is well-known to all Americans.

Our tour begins at the foot of this massif, that belongs to the Rocky Mountains, in the small village Lee Vining, at a level of only 1574.80 ft above sea, from where it takes a breath taking climb up to 9842.51 ft above sea level to lead us to the Tioga Pass. Here lies the entrance to the Yosemite National Park, which provides a beautiful view on the almost 16 404.19 ft high glaciers. The route alongside lush meadows and steel-blue tarns is solely accessible in the months fom June to October without any difficulty, because even in the summer months heavy snowfalls can impede the access.

After an initially challenging and wearing climb, a diverse stretch follows, which leads you entirely from East to West through the National Park.

Please enjoy the view, when going along the longer downhill passages of one of the most extraordinary mountain landscapes that can be reached by bike.
