Auerberg-Wertach-Tour

Starting point of this nearly 57 mile long round tour is Waldfriedhof, which lies north of Füssen in the Allgäu Alps, at a sea level of 2641 ft.

This moderately difficult tour, during which 6279 ft. in altitude have to be overcome, leads through the towns Hopferau to Hopfen, situated on the idyllic Hopfensee. This part of the tour offers exceptional views of the Allgäu Alps.

With beautiful weather, for the most part, the tour leads along quiet main and side roads through the hilly and picturesque foothills of the Alps. Hereby once in a while short but brisk climbs and descents have to be overcome.

Past the fifth largest artificial lake in Bavaria, the Forggensee, through lots of little villages and hamlets, the tour leads north towards Lechbruck am See in the Swabian administrative district Ostallgäu.

The villages Bernbeuren and Stötten, both situated at the foot of the view promising 3461ft. high mountain Auer, as well as the district principal town Marktoberdorf, are the next destinations on this tour.

The following route now geographically runs south along the Wertach, a tributary of the Lech, through Oberhingau to Görisried.
 
From here the route turns back in an easterly direction, over Wertach to Lengenwang.

Seeg, Hopferau and Hop on the lake are the last towns to pass on the way back to the starting point of this wonderful tour of Füssen in the Allgäu Alps.
